Project Summary

I have the ambition to become a leader in conducting clinical trials on tropical infectious diseases including project management in vaccine development. For this I need to improve my skills, strengthen my experience and get training in a specific area: - Project management in vaccine and drugs development - Conducting clinical trial at different steps of its development including Standard Operating Procedures and ICH-GCP principles trainings. - Managerial and monitoring aspects of clinical trial including safety assessment and reporting. - Clinical Protocol writing ( study design, sample size calculation) - Ethics-Regulatory requirement in product development - Training and education in clinical trial - Management of clinical trial documents The objectives of those training is: - To have advanced skills on the practical aspects of managing vaccine and drugs development - To have advanced knowledge on different steps and activities in conducting clinical research projects - To perform the basic activities to conduct a clinical trial according Good Clinical Practice - To write scientific reports and publication - To write grant application After successfully completing of this fellowship , I will return to my home institution where I will play a leadership role in research activities conducted. Upon my return, the advanced knowledge and skills that I will gain during my training at my host organization on the identified areas,will be shared with my colleagues. My reintegration will be done through the following axes: 1/Strengthen research capacity: To strengthen the skills and knowledge of GRAS young researchers. To provide continuous methodological support to young researchers involved in training programs, in order to allow them to complete these long-term trainings which are the main pillars for their career development. 2/ Build strategic partnership with the host organization for the conducting of clinical researches in the GRAS. This will provide a research environment which will attract and retain young local scientists, allowing continued growth of the GRAS. 3/Strengthen South-South partnership between GRAS and the other research Centers in Burkina Faso through the methodological support that I will provide to the researchers from these Centers who are in need. This will increase the visibility of the GRAS, at the national level. 4/Organize workshop on scientific writing this will allow young researchers to share their research findings globally. 5/Write and submit at least 02 research papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. It will have a lot of data set collected during previous and ongoing studies. 6/Develop and submit a study protocol on tropical infectious disease for a small grant. 7/ write a progress report of ongoing studies in my home organization
