COVID- 19 Global Research and Innovation Forum

WHO is hosting the 3rd COVID- 19 Global research and innovation forum, 24-25 February 2022 between 13:00 - 18:00 (on both days) Central European Time (CET).

This virtual event will bring together diverse COVID-19 research scientists, regulatory experts, funders, Member States policy makers and other experts.  The goals of the Forum are:

Goal 1: To continue to accelerate research that can contribute end the current pandemic and facilitate that those affected receive optimal care; while integrating innovation fully within each research area.

Goal 2: To support research priorities in a way that contributes to the development of global research platforms and research priorities and leads to better preparation for future pandemics.

 Discussions will focus on the future of COVID-19 research.  The forum will include scientific presentations and discussions that will focus on different areas of research.  Moreover, there will be keynote presentations and panel discussions on how research can help to end this pandemic and prepare for future pandemics.

Global Forum on TB Vaccines, 20-22 April 2021

The Global Forum on TB Vaccines is the world’s largest gathering of stakeholders striving to develop new vaccines to prevent TB. It provides an important and unique opportunity to review the state of the field, share the latest research findings, and identify new and innovative approaches to TB vaccine R&D, with the end goal of developing and deploying new TB vaccines as quickly as possible. The Global Forum program addresses the full spectrum of issues relevant to TB vaccine research and development (R&D), from basic research to clinical trials, manufacturing, regulatory, access, and advocacy.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a Virtual Global Forum on TB Vaccines will be convened from 20 - 22 April 2021. It will provide an overview of the state of the field and recent progress in TB vaccine R&D against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic; and convene researchers, developers, funders and other stakeholders remotely to discuss opportunities and challenges for TB vaccine R&D in these unprecedented times.

INTEREST 2021: 12-14 October 2021

This year’s edition of INTEREST will be held as a virtual meeting from 12 – 14 October. Dr. Andrew Kambugu, a member of the International Conference Committee (ICC), shares his thoughts on why you should join this important meeting.

Young Investigators
The registration fee is waived for all Young Investigators. To be eligible as a young investigator, one should be:
- 35 years of age or younger; and
- a current Master/PhD student OR have obtained an MD/PharmD/PhD degree in the last five years.
An application form needs to be completed by a supervisor and received by the Conference Secretariat at Lara.daSilvaMiguel@amededu.com.

Resource-Limited Settings
