Cochrane has opened a free access registry of scientific studies in combating COVID-19 in an attempt to provide the world with quick analyses and understanding of evidence emerging from the war against the virus. The ICREID 2020 Scientific Programme Committee will begin accepting abstract submissions on October 18 for the March 2020 International Conference (see attached). Abstracts should have a focus around the theme “EMERGING INFECTIONS AND ONE HEALTH” and must be submitted to one of the following four major tracks – (1) One Health, Zoonosis and Emerging Infections, (2) Human, Environmental and Animal Health: The Interfaces of Health Security, (3) Innovations in Public Health, Laboratory Diagnostics, and Networking, (4) Role of National Public Health Institutes in Implementing One Health.

ICREID 2020 Program includes:

o 6 Plenaries: 3 Invited Speakers 90-minute sessions that consist of 3 invited speaker presentations, followed by a 15-minute panel discussion

o 24 Oral abstract sessions are 60-minute sessions that consist of five to six 10-minute oral presentations, each followed by a five-minute question and answer session

o Poster viewing: 60-minute sessions

o Satellite symposia/Satellite sessions

On behalf of the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) and Community Partners (CP), we invite you to attend the How to Critically (and Quickly) Read a Protocol Webinar.
Understanding a protocol is important for community members interested in engaging in clinical research. One of the challenges for community members participating in protocol development is learning how to critically review a protocol from a community perspective. CP, a group of community representatives working across the five National Institutes of Health (NIH) HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks, is honored to feature the following panelists to discuss this topic: Neetha Morar, Jan Kosmyna, and Jeffrey Schouten.

The course aims to facilitate critical decision-making in vaccinology by providing participants with a comprehensive overview of the field, from immunology to vaccine development and clinical trials, as well as the social, economic, political and ethical issues of vaccination.  The Course is relevant for both the public and private sectors.

Fellowships covering travel expenses, as well as registration and accommodation fees will be available for a number of selected participants in accordance with the criteria outlined on the website.  These fellowships are provided by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP), the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID).
