The Trials of Excellence in Southern Africa (TESA) was founded in 2009 under the EDCTP1 program. Dedicated to fostering north -south and south-south collaboration, capacity building, and training among institutions in Southern African countries. TESA has evolved into a network covering fifteen institutions, twelve from Southern African countries and three from Europe, TESA collaboratively works to strengthen and enhance capacities for clinical research.
TESA also addresses Gender and Diversity Regional Gaps in Clinical Research Capacity through its TAGENDI Fellowship program. With support from EDCTP, the program aims to contribute to the reduction of the gender diversity gaps through the training of women TESA network researchers.
